Thoughts on the 2022 MTV Awards

The 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards was an exciting mix of acknowledging Tom Holland's incredible acting capability, Jennifer Lopez’s risky summer leather, and the legendary on-screen Cassie v. Maddy feud in Euphoria.
The main event was Tom Holland's award for best movie, celebrating his incredible role as Spiderman in the recent movie, Spider Man-No Way Home. This film was by far the most epic of all Spiderman films, fans are considering it transformative in the Marvel world. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers managed to find a way to bring together all three Spiderman superheroes from every generation, while still upholding a plot and visually pleasing cinematic journey. By uniting the icons, they reinforced my love for Spiderman, as well as other views of many different age groups and generations. The film appealed to an array of audience members, not only heart throb, diehard Tom Holland fans. This action-packed film took us for a ride, finishing with a classic good vs evil fight that took place on the Statue of Liberty. Marvel couldn't let us go without adding a sneak peek hook at the end of the credits, hinting at the sequel coming in 2023. I'm not the only one impressed by this amazing film and Tom’s performance efforts. Tom Holland won Best Performance, while in competition with Robert Pattinson's performance in Marvel's top competitor, DC’s Batman. The movie was up for seven nominations that night and won 2 awards, proving Marvel is the better competitor in the world of superheroes. Both awards were well deserved.
Fashion was the fun sideshow to the awards. One of the best looks of the night was Oliva Rodrigo. According to Vogue, Rodrigo’s stylists Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, chose a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress to compliment Miss Olivia’s figure while upgrading her look with crisscrossed straps. Rodrigo added statement rings and earrings, making it her own.
Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi graced us with a sultry look for Jennifer Lopez, choosing a Mônot gown to show off her figure. The look couldn’t be complete without a chic black clutch to keep things sophisticated. Lopez was daring with her choice of leather for a summer show but succeeded once again in catching attention from viewers.
The big fashion win goes to Sydney Sweeney for best dressed, and best on-screen fight. Her sparkly pastel pink Miu Miu set was styled by Molly Dickson. The look was finished off with a blingy platform heel, shoes I would love in my own closet! My favorite touch was her dark eye glam tying in her black buckle belt. Her loose blonde locks were a contrasting element to her bright outfit. Sweeney won Best Fight for Euphoria, referring to her iconic scene with cast member Alexa Demie. Her pink outfit truly channeled her inner Casey, and she looked the part while accepting her award. What a fabulous night for fashion and die-hard Marvel fans!
